File and remit
Learn about filing and remitting tax.
Note
You might be eligible for a 1099 tax form through a platform that pays you with Stripe. Learn more about how to receive your forms.
You must file and remit the tax you collect for every location where you’re registered. Each location has its own rules for reporting and filing taxes. Additionally, each location determines when you must pay (or remit) taxes, which could vary by the volume of your sales into that location.
Filing frequency
Each local tax authority determines how often you must file your taxes and when you must register to collect tax. You might need to remit tax monthly, quarterly, annually, or on another frequency. How often you file can vary based on annual revenue and local regulations.
Filing with Stripe
Stripe Tax offers automated filing in the US and works with filing partners that manage much of the tax filing process. Each partner focuses on different regions and types of businesses.
Note
Pricing varies by partner and filing location. The Stripe Tax subscription plan, Tax Complete, includes a certain number of filing entitlements (credits) you can use toward TaxJar and Taxually. Marosa and Hands-off Sales Tax have separate pricing. Check your plan in the Dashboard under Stripe plans.
